What Happened to Curtis Leslie?

Curtis Leslie, class of 1988.

Curtis played BUHS football, tennis, and baseball. Curtis was named first Team All-Conference and first Team All-State for football as a Center during his senior year. After graduation, Curtis went to Cochise College and NAU where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.

Curtis was a Police Officer for the city of Benson for over 10 years and was also a Law Enforcement Park Ranger for Arizona State Parks prior to moving overseas. Curtis worked off and on for 10 years as an International Police Advisor. Curtis was contracted by the US State Department as a Police Advisor in Iraq and Afghanistan. Curtis was also contracted to the United Nations as a Police Advisor in Sudan and South Sudan. While overseas Curtis also attained his Masters of Science Degree in Administration of Justice from the University of Phoenix.

Curtis met his wife Isela Chavarria-Leslie while working in Sudan, she is originally from New York City and they met while she was working in Sudan for the United Nations Refugee Agency. Curtis and Isela recently moved back to Benson. Curtis is currently working for Arizona State Parks again.
