A Look Back

Fire up the Wayback Machine and set it on 10 years. It is 2010 and the Class of 1960 is having its 50 year reunion, along with the Class of 1961.

We have gathered at the Turquoise Hills golf course to celebrate this hard to believe milestone. Where did the time GO?!?

Turquoise Hills and the Reunion Committe have done a bang-up job decorating the diningroom.

Everywhere you look there are memorabilia.

Those who have passed on

And here we all are — 10 years younger — and at this age those 10 years really show, lol.

We are smart, brave, and thrifty!
We’re the class of 1960!

Before and after dinner a whole lot of mingling went on.

Cathy and Ginger

And now just to emphasize just how many years had gone by, here are the attendees, before and after. Yes, we are the same people.

I have been living in Benson this time since October 2007. I moved back here from Yuma where I had moved at the request of my older daughter, Lisa, and her family (husband, Chris, a Marine helicopter pilot, sons Keenan (23), Wes (15), Bennett (7), and Everett (5), when they were transferred there (they are presently stationed at Camp Pendleton CA) Prior to that I had moved to Benson in 2001 from Orlando FL where I had moved in 1998 at the request of my younger daughter, Sheli, and her family (husband, Pete; daughter Devon (15) and Paulito (12). I retired from the Federal Government in 1997 (assignments with the Govt included the Geological Survey, Tumamoc Hill, Tucson, AZ; Geological Survey Headquarters in Reston; US Army at Ft Huachuca, AZ and Milwaukee, WI; the Navy at LAX, CA and the Air Force in Tucson.. My hobbies presently include my obsessive watching of TV Mexican novellas; listening to music, reading, playing computer games, walking my last dog (have had many cats and one other dog), and let’s not forget dancing the salsa in my kitchen. But the best has been reconnecting with relatives and Benson classmates and our revisits to grade school and high school days. The stories we share that we’d forgotten or we didn’t know about are worthy of any novel.
